Spring is Here, Let the Projects Begin!!

This is where the fence used to be.
It has really opened up our back yard.
Our plan is to build a swing set for the kids in this space and put up some chain link fence to enclose the pool. The second phase of the project will be complete in three weeks when my family comes down to visit.

What a beautiful weekend we had. The weather was great, and we had a fun time as a family working on projects, and playing outside. The kids rode their bikes, and played in the sand box. Gibson has really mastered his bike this Spring. He can steer and has more confidence. Stella loves to follow him, but is a little more cautious. We decided to take down our fence on the north side. It was old and unstable. One of the pictures I have posted is an example of how rotten the rail road ties were. Termites and ants had made their homes in the logs for many years. It took very little effort to knock down the fence. It was great to be able to work together. The only oops we had was we put too much weight on our little lawn tractor trailer and it bent in the middle hitting the tire!! Good thing Q has a welder, he'll fix it soon I'm sure. Sometimes I wonder if he breaks things so he can use his tools!! Just kidding.

We also started to pump out the water out of our pool that has collected on top of the tarp. It is nasty water. The pump has been running all day and their is still water on top of the tarp. Hopefully by morning it'll be all gone.

We were able to listen to conference today as we sat down together as a family and ate pancakes and sausage. The kids were excited to listen to the prophet speak. We sang, Follow the Prophet together. They love to sing songs. ABC's is a favorite now.

We also went for a walk today and a bike ride with the kids. We were able to meet some of our neighbors that live down the street. They have a daughter who babysits!! Good to know. We also threw the football around and enjoyed the nice warm weather and sunshine! I love this time of year.
