Apple Recipe Exchange

It was an relaxing evening. We ate, sat, and talked. Couldn't get much better than that. Here are some really good recipes that I want to share with my readers. Thanks to all the ladies who came last night and participated.


Apple Peanut Delight Salad

8oz crushed pineapple (with juice)
1egg (beaten)
1 T. apple cider vinegar
1/2C sugar

Bring above ingredients to a boil. Simmer until thickened.

Add:
4C. chopped Granny Smith apples (2large)
1C dry roasted peanuts (unsalted)

Fold in:
12oz Cool Whip

Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.




Apple Crisp


1-2 bags of Granny Smith apples
2tsp of cinnamon
2C all purpose flour
1C butter softened
1C sugar
6 Tbsp of water
1C brown sugar


grease 9x13 pan
Pre heat @ 350 degrees
Slice apples and put in pan
Mix the white sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle on apples
Sprinkle water on apples
Mix together with a fork:
Flour, brown sugar, and butter
Crumble on top
Bake for 1 hour



One Dish Bratwurst Dinner

4uncooked bratwurst links
2 small apples
1 medium sweet onion, halved and cut into 1/4" slices
1 large sweet potato, peeled, halved and cut into 1/4" slices
1/3 C apple cider or juice


In a skillet, cook brats over medium heat until browned, drain. (I cut them penny-wise.)
Add the apple, onion and sweet potato; pour cider over the top. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until the brats are cooked and vegetables are tender.
Yield 4 servings



Apple Kuchen

1/2 C butter or margarine softened
1pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 C flaked coconut (optional)
20 oz can sliced pie apples, well drained or 2 1/2 C sliced baking apples
1/2 C sugar
1t. cinnamon
1C. dairy sour cream
2 egg yolks, or 1 egg

Heat over to 350 degrees.
Cut butter into dry cake mix until crumbly, then mix in the coconut. Pat mixture lightly into un-greased 9x13 in. pan building up slight edges. Bake 10 minutes. Do not over bake.

Arrange apple slices on warm crust. Mix sugar and cinnamon then sprinkle on apples. Blend sour cream and egg yolks; drizzle over apples. Note: the topping will not completely cover the apples. Bake 25 minutes or until edges are light brown. Serve warm.
